Atlas Overview

Community Assets include services, programs and facilities that support the physical, spiritual, educational, cultural, economic, and emotional needs of residents. Different populations within a community, and different groups of businesses, have need for different community assets. A minimum number of these community assets are required to support the continued well-being of individuals and communities. Community asset maps are an important tool for initiating community development initiatives.

Current thematic map layers
The Kamloops-South Thompson Community Asset Atlas is in a very early stage of development. Current thematic layers, such as parks, fire hydrants, schools, and community facilities, are associated with city infrastructure.

The initial atlas view shows childcare assets within the City of Kamloops.  These map layers are found within the following folders – Local Governments>CoK Community Assets
